Written circa early 2007. One of my favorites. The lyrics may seem creepy, but at its heart it's a sweet song about coping with loss. Fit in well with the rest of the album thematically. Recorded it on the "deadline" of NYE 2010.
lyrics
i ride your coffin like a whale
beneath these seven seas that you and me used to sail
underneath these unforgiving waves
below the surface they can't hurt us
now we're safe
and i will carry on
until your body's gone
until you decompose
into just teeth and bones
and that switch is always on
that switch is always on
i tried to take your words to heart
and now they're echoing from canyons in the dark
taking the bits i remember
and trying to tape 'em together
and hang 'em up on my wall
before i forget them all
and that switch is always on
that switch is always on
that switch is always on
that switch is always...
